Vali Incorporated is seeking a Material Corrosion Control Engineer who will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and quality assurance. This individual will use their expertise in material corrosion to mitigate the causes of corrosion by using design and manufacturing practices that address selection of materials, coating and surface treatments, production processes, system geometry, and by repairs, overhaul, spare parts requirements, and preventive and scheduled maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as a member of team, coordinates with the appropriate functional and programmatic personnel to identify and solve complex corrosion related problems and issues.
  • Perform on-site inspections, training, and assessments of fielded hardware, providing feedback, training, and mitigation to assist the unit in effective preventive and corrective maintenance of the system.
  • Coordinate and schedule inspections, training, and assessments with MDA personnel and with the fielded system units.
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop new and improved techniques for corrosion prevention and mitigation.
  • Review and analyze programmatic corrosion prevention and mitigation requirements, training materials, inspection methods, maintenance techniques, etc. specifications, and test methods.
  • Document findings and assist with the preparation of briefings, technical risk analyses and assessments, and document finding
  • Provide weekly status reports on activities and issues of concern.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Professional engineering (ABET)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience military system maintenance and/or corrosion control and prevention
  • Experience establishing, implementing, and overseeing the corrosion prevention and mitigation program for DoD fielded weapon systems.
  • Experience with DoD weapon system maintenance and support.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance; current clearance would be a plus.
